DPT, OCS, Physical Therapist
Dr. Cody Gunselman
Dr. Cody Gunselman completed his undergraduate studies at Kent State University and went on to receive his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Cleveland State University. After graduate school, Cody chose to begin his physical therapy career as a contractor in clinics around the country that were in need of therapists. He valued gaining experience in multiple settings, learning from different clinicians, and was able to see the country in his spare time. Cody’s treatment areas include orthopedics, sports, vestibular, dry needling, blood flow restriction, and performance training. He has a passion for working with throwing athletes. He plans on obtaining his Level 1 CrossFit coaching certification. One of the biggest philosophies Cody tries to empower in his patients is to simply be active. He feels that, “If you have a body, you are an athlete.” If you come to physical therapy, it’s likely because something is stopping you from doing things you either need to do or love to do, so rehab should include those specific activities. Cody feels the fitness industry has changed, and PTs have the skillset to help people continue to be active at higher levels. He has a vision of educating people that just as you have a primary care physician you regularly see, you can have a physical therapist you can see in order to achieve your goals. Physical therapists are your doctors for movement and injuries. In his free time, Cody enjoys playing recreational sports which include playing golf and competing in softball/basketball leagues. While traveling around the country he picked up participating in CrossFit, which along with recreational sports leagues has helped fill his void for competition. He has a love for traveling and hiking. He’s excited to begin a new chapter here in the lowcountry.
